This magnificent structure luminates in the darkness and offers a beautiful view and can be seen in the skyline from many prominent residences throughout the East Cooper area.
Mount Pleasant is bordered by the Charleston Harbor, the Wando River, the Intracoastal Waterway and Shem Creek. It offers excellent shopping and dining, from small, locally owned shops and businesses to large, popular chain and department stores. The town offers public parks throughout the miles of upscale communities, along with a wide range of public and private golf courses and tennis facilities.
Set along Charleston Harbor is the Old Village of Mount Pleasant. This historic neighborhood, dating back to the 1800’s is draped with Spanish moss from the old oak trees lining the streets and yards. The Old Village is a place where children walk and ride their bikes to both the public elementary school, Mount Pleasant Academy and the middle school, Moultrie Middle School. Historic Pitt Street is a tiny shopping and dining area, home to the The Old Village Post House Restaurant, the Village Bakery and the Pitt Street Pharmacy, where children frequent for candy and ice cream and can put their goods on a tab.
